Getting help from Flamingo, and what to include

3 min read

Sign in, then use Contact support in the help centre. The form asks for your name, email, a subject and a description. You get a ticket number as soon as the ticket is created, and every update comes by email from support@hireflamingo.com.

Raise a support request from Contact support in the help centre. You need to be signed in to your Flamingo account: the ticket is filed under the email address on your session, so the form only appears to a signed-in visitor.

The form opens a ticket and hands you its number straight away.

Sign in first

Open Contact support signed out and you get two cards instead of the form:

  • Sign in to send a support request — signing in brings you straight back to the same page, and

anything the page was prefilled with survives the round trip.

  • Email us — for anyone without a Flamingo account, email

support@hireflamingo.com with your name, your company and what you need.

Note

This is not a locked page. Anyone can open Contact support and read it, including someone who is not a Flamingo customer. It is only the submission that needs an account, because the ticket has to belong to a verified email address.

What the form asks for

Five fields, all required:

  1. First name
  2. Last name
  3. Email
  4. Subject — a one-line summary, up to 150 characters
  5. How can we help? — your description, up to 5,000 characters

That is the whole form. There is nothing optional to fill in.

Note

Your name and email are filled in from your Flamingo account. The email is read-only — the ticket is always filed against the address on your signed-in session — so sign in with another account if you need it filed under a different address. Your name you can edit.

What to include in the description

The form's own prompt is the right instruction: the people, contracts or invoices involved, and anything you already tried. Concretely, the things that save a round trip are:

  • Names or reference numbers — the contractor, the contract, the invoice number, the payroll run.
  • What you expected to happen, and what happened instead.
  • The exact wording of any error message.
  • When it happened, and in which time zone — see [What time zone are dates and times shown

in?](/a/what-time-zone-are-dates-and-times-shown-in)

  • Whether it happens every time, or happened once.

If you reach the form from a link inside the Flamingo app, the subject and description may already be partly filled in with the page or search you came from. That text is a starting point only: edit or delete anything that is not relevant. It never fills in who the ticket is from.

After you send it

Step 1 — You get a ticket number

It appears on screen as soon as the ticket is created, under Your request is in. Quote it in any reply.

Step 2 — Updates arrive by email

Every update comes by email from support@hireflamingo.com. If you do not have a Flamingo support login, the email carries a secure link to view the ticket.

Step 3 — Or follow it in the help centre

Because the ticket is filed under your account, your own cases are listed on the help centre's Get support page, with each one's status and latest update. That is also where you open the next one.

Warning

Note the ticket number down before you leave the page. It is shown once, on the confirmation screen.

If the form will not send

  • If a field is wrong, the error appears under that field — fix it and send again.
  • If the request itself fails, the error message offers an Email us instead link so you can send

the same details by email.

  • If the form is replaced by an Email us card with "Our support request form isn't available

right now", the ticketing service is not reachable from that environment. Email support@hireflamingo.com instead.

Note

There is no verification challenge on the form any more. If you remember completing one, that was the old signed-out route, which has been replaced by signing in.
